Self Credit Builder

So, I don’t know about you but I don’t know anybody with a “perfect” credit score! As a matter of fact, it’s hard to find a lot of people with “excellent credit” since the pandemic… Whether you’re rebuilding your credit, or trying to get a boost before a major purchase for better rates, Enter: Self!

Now, I have seen my share of “DIY credit repair” and have never heard very good testimonials. I saw the ads and banners for Self I can’t even tell you how many times. Never had an interest in giving it a try. My boss and I were talking one morning and the subject of credit got brought up.

He mentioned how he was trying to increase his for a new rental. He started telling me how he started using this app called “self” a couple months prior. Fastforward a month, the app got brought up again and sure enough his credit jumped up 30+ points… IN THREE MONTHS!

Now we all know, it takes literally a lifetime to raise and build out credit! Yet miss one payment, have incorrect information reported on you, or even a new line of credit and BOOM, down 67 points! It’s a greatly flawed system. One that is outdated and honestly, irrelevant in my opinion! Everyone who know anything, knows cash is always king. Now lets rewind 3 months from today, 01 August 2024.

I got a few new credit cards and took a pretty big ding on my credit score. I kept having the conversation with my boss and I replay in my head. I grabbed my phone and downloaded the app. Let it be known, it’s easier to set up on a computer! i made my initial deposit of only 25 dollars.

This is something that can be customized by you! I was still very skeptical and hesitent to just dish out my information… I figured 25 dollars for three months, worst case scenario I would be out 75 bucks. not going to break the bank. Auto deposits were set up for the end of every month. Fun fact, you can make a pament earlier than the set date, but the money will still be withdrawn on the set date!

Fastforward present day, 01 August 2024 and I receive an email from “Self“. My credit score had jumped up for Experian by 41 points! WOW!! I open up credit karma to see if anything changed there? Sure enough, my Transunion score jumped up 24 points! Unfortunately, I have not seen an increase in my Equifax score, if I do I will be sure to update my post with a comment.

Maybe you know you’re about to start looking for a new load? Perhaps you’re going to try to refiance an existing loan? Even if you just took a loan and a hit and are trying to get your score closer to where it was!

Give yourself three (or four just to be safe) months and focus on your patience… and watch your score come to life! I challenge you to take a look and try it for yourself! I don’t know what detmines the amouint of increase, my boss and I both did the same deposit. If anything, his was slightly higher because, well, he is the boss. He makes more.
